Seri The Princess Diaries adalah seri yang paling terkenal karya Meg Cabot, dan sudah dipublikasikan di lebih dari 40 negara. Buku pertama diterbitkan bulan Oktober tahun 2000; Seri ini berada di daftar New York Times Children's Series Best Sellers selama 38 minggu dan sudah dijual kepada para penerbit dari 37 negara.

Tahun 2001 sampai 2004 berturut-turut, seri ini diangkat ke layar lebar oleh Walt Disney Pictures sebagai The Princess Diaries dan The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement dibintangi oleh Anne Hathaway dan Julie Andrews.

The Princess Diaries bercerita tentang seorang gadis tomboi kelas 1 SMU bernama Mia Thermopolis. Ibunya seorang pelukis dan Ayahnya adalah seorang pangeran di Kerajaan kecil bernama Genovia. Suatu Hari neneknya memberitahunya bahwa ia adalah penerus takhta ayahnya. Untuk itu Mia harus belajar menjadi putri yang akan diajarkan oleh neneknya yang cerewet. Seperti etiket, cara berpakaian, sopan santun, dll.
